Rites for Cpl Alvin Petty: Taken from the Washington Democrat Paper on Friday Jan. 9, 1953 at the Carnagie public Library Washington, Indiana
Funeral services for CPL Alvin R. Petty ee held Thurscay at 2 PM in the Plainville UEB (United Brothern) Church. The Rev. Eldon Gourley was assisted by Rev. Harrold Underwood and he rev. Clyde Wake. Burial was at the Plainfield Cemetery.
CPL petty who was killed on the Korean Battlefront, was accorded full military honors by the Burchwood post of American Legion. Memberes of he post who acted as pallbearers were: Adrian Allison, Bearnard Barber, Robert Cline, Joe Jones, Ray Brow, & Rufus Arnold.
Color guard : Bill Bogger, George Mattingly, John Robb and Martin CoscroveAlvin was the 2nd son of Ernest Petty and Inez Chestnut Petty.
