Grandad was a retired farmer, who had traded in livestock and land for many
years. He was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church, and was active in
that church up until about 2 mos before he died. Many years ago, he had an
accident on the tractor. He had some pretty severe injuries, and packed mud
into some of the cuts to keep from bleeding to death before he was found.
The doctor said he had a hard time cleaning out the cuts, but it did keep him
alive. He sent me to the drugstore to get some Absorbine, and told me to
get the strong stuff, not the Jr. The stuff smelled to high heaven, but after
a week, he told the doctor he was ready to go home! -So he did. A very
independent man, and a likeable man of strong character. He will be missed.
