Pa Petty as he was called or the Irishman to some was of Scottish decent but in the rural area of Tennessee that did not seem to matter. After his wife died in Maury County, Tennessee Pa Petty moved to Giles County with his son Clarence. He was in what was known as the Peach area and later moved to Appleton across Sugar Creek. There he met his Second wife from Lexington, Alabama whom he married and moved to Alabama until her death. He then moved to Lawrenceville, Tennessee and lived with one of his other children until his death. He is buried in Lexington, Alabama beside his second wife and son. Marion was named form the Sparkman (his mother) side of the family.

Translated by Mike Watkins in 1980, Bible at that time in posession of Edith Petty Doster now deceased and Bible in possion of Lewis Doster II. Edith must have kept writting in the Bible after Marion's death as there are alot of enteries in the Bible since the death of Marion. Edith was sister to my grandmother, I knew her well but never ask her abouth th enteries after his death. Margaret Rebecca Sparkman w/o Edward Petty is d/o Kinchen and Eliza Simpson Sparkman as per her tombstone in Godwin Cemetery, Maury County, Tennessee

Pa Petty as he was called or the Irishman to some was of Scottish decent but in the rural area of Tennessee that did not seem to matter. After his wife died in Maury County, Tennessee Pa Petty moved to Giles County with his son Clarence. He was in what was known as the Peach area and later moved to Appleton across Sugar Creek. There he met his Second wife from Lexington, Alabama whom he married and moved to Alabama until her death. He then moved to Lawrenceville, Tennessee and lived with one of his other children until his death. He is buried in Lexington, Alabama beside his second wife and son. Marion was named form the Sparkman (his mother) side of the family.
