Sally Ann Petty who married Oliver H. Cambridge on 11 Mar 1841 in Franklin Co., IN could be a sister to Silas Petty.
Records were searched in 1984 of Marion Co., Indiana records There were 2 individuals James E. Petty and Julius Petty who had information. If eithere of the above are the father of Silas P etty it is probably the grandson, John W. Petty may be mentioned in an estate record. More research needs to be done on this family to be sure of the family connections.

This information on him does not agree with the 1880 census, which says he is a female dau of George C. Petty 8 years old born in TN as are his parents. That makes him born 1872. I believe the census was wrong.
