(*granddaughter) daughter of Isaac Petty and Elizabeth Morton.

Note: Wilson Petty, parent of my ggrandfather Joseph Stanton Petty b.22 Jan 1878 in Dent Co. MO. I have his mother down as Martha Goad. Do you have this info? Your help is graetly appreciated.

Note from Researcher:
Wilson Petty was born ca 1778 in North Carolina, married Margaret somebody who was born in Va. ca. 1776. Would like to know her maiden name. Had a son Isaac who was my ancestor. Isaac born ca. 1803 married Elizabeth Morton born Tennessee. Would like the maiden name of Margaret and marriage dates for both couples. thanks.

Note: Wilson Petty was married to Margaret Coffey, and his son William married Elizabeth Coffey. Elizabeth Coffey was the daughter of Asbury Marvel Coffey and Rachel Boone

Note: Wilson and Margaret's son William Petty married to Elizabeth Coffey. Isaac is the brother of William. I will try to find out where she got this. BTW they are ALL in Jackson, Osage County, MO in 1850 (including Wilson and Margaret) census living beside one another. I am sure you already knew that though.

Note: "Asbury" part of Marvel Coffey. After looking over the will of Jesse Boone, it does appear that A.M. Coffey and Marvel Coffey listed are two different individuals. As to the information on Wilson Petty's wife, Margaret "Coffey", that was found from information about Rachel Boone in WFT vol. #48, Tree #478.

Marvel Coffey who married Rachel Boone is not Asbury Marvel Coffey. I have copies of several original documents relating to Marvel and all of them have him listed as Marvel Coffey only. In particular is Jesse Boone's will which lists him as Marvel Coffey (Rachel's husband). There is an Asbury Marvel Coffey who signs as a witness. I think that Asbury is probably a nephew of Marvel Coffey and perhaps helped Jesse with his will. There was an Asbury Marvel Coffey who became a famous politician in Kansas who was probably the same person as the witness above. Anyone have any comments on this theory? I'd also be very interested to know where the information on Margaret Coffey and Wilson Petty's marriage came from. This is the first time I have seen a surname for Margaret.
