Porter of Maury Co., TN for locating a tract of land , 1298 acres by Entry # 207 and $300.00. the land in the name of Wm. Dillard gives Porter a tract of land in Bedford Co., TN south of Duck River. The land was granted by Tennessee to William Dillard by #1054. Levina Dillard Petty, only heir of William Dillard, deceased. Aug Term 1815. (Smith Co., TN)
Note from researchers: Would this Wm. Petty be the father of the Wm. Petty, the brother to Nathan L. Petty, named one of his sons Dillard Petty.
