"Isabel Cook Flanary the venerable relict of the late John A. Flanary, who preceded her to the grave in 1885, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Laura Howerton, where she has livd since the death of her son, R,L.Flanary, four miles from the city on the Morganfield Road, Saturday morning of uremic poisoning. Mrs. Flanary was born in this county near Fords Ferry Dec. 28 1825. She had the misfortune to fall and break her hip a few years ago, which rendered he almost helpless, but otherwise her health was good for one her age. The funeral was held and the internment took place at the new cemetary(Mapleview). Mrs. Flanary was a woman of quiet and refined manners and had been a Christian since childhood, holding her membership at Dunn springs Baptist Church at the time of her death. She is survived by two brothers, H.M. Cook of this city and Levi Cook of Fords Ferry, and one sister, Mrs. Snyder Wilborn of this city, and by one daughter Mrs. Howerton of the county, and three sons, Gordon of Dallas TX; D.C.(Kit) of Houston TX; and Henry, now of California, but recently of Memphis,TN. She has 12 living grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren."
