------------------------------------- So as a conclusion to all of this Sarah is born Oct. 9, 1851 in Greater Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co., UT Territory. Also if you note the 1910 census. Sarah lists her father as being born in Pennsylvania. I would take this that she knew who her father was???? Idaho death certificates have been microfilmed from July 1,1911-1937 and are available from Salt Lake City's Family History Library through any Family History Center in the world. 1) This verifies the birth date of 9 Oct 1851.
I found Sarah Abigail Petty Cherry's death certificate at the main Family History Library in Salt Lake City. There are a few things to note about it:
2) Robert Cowan and Margaret Jefferson Wells are listed as her parents, but their birthplaces are wrong. He was born in Tennessee and she was born in North Carolina.
3) Her middle name is spelled "Abagail" here, but I'm not sure I trust the typist since her mother, Margaret (Margret on her headstone), is listed as "Margert." I've never seen her middle name spelled that way anywhere else.
4) She is listed as being buried in Utah. I have been searching for her grave site in Idaho since she lived there for most of her adult life and died there, but apparently that's wrong.
