"Edgar Birdell Sorensen 1921 ~ 2006 Edgar Birdell Sorensen, passed away December 21, 2006. Born February 3, 1921, Emery, Utah, to Edgar Sorensen and Myrtle Brinkerhoff. Married Elva Olsen on January 22, 1949. Marriage solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Duane, sister Pauline. Survived by his wife, Elva, Lindon, UT; children John (Julie) Sorensen, Orem, UT; Susan (Kreg) Davis, Idaho Falls, ID; Lynn Sorensen, Cheyenne, WY; Margie (West) Seegmiller, Laguna Beach, CA; Joe (Amber) Sorensen, Tollson, AZ; Mary (Don) Mealing, Park City, UT; Merna (Joe) Mongelli, Arvada, CO; Rhea (Don) Cragun, Layton, UT; Morgan (Stephen) Templar, Lehi, UT; sisters Naomi (Vanor) Brown, Lehi, UT; Margaret Mangum, Emery, UT; Rose Mitchell, Magna, UT; 32 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Veteran of World War II, European Theater. Worked as a coal miner in Emery and Carbon Counties. Enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, and spending time in the outdoors with his family. He was a voracious reader and got teary-eyed during sentimental romance movies. Birdell was an active and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a deep and abiding faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ and a sure testimony of the atonement and resurrection. He loved and was beloved of his family. Funeral service Saturday, December 23, 2006, 1:00 p.m., Lindon 10th Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1100 East 200 South, Lindon, UT. Viewing prior to services, 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Burial Lindon City Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by VFW District #4. Services under the direction of Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary."
