Petty, 2/5/1978: Lewisville: William (Bill) Carroll Petty (73) of Route 3, Lewisville died Friday at Lewisville, Memorial Hospital. Services are set for 11 A.M., Feb 6 at Rhoton-Weiland-Merritt Chapel. Burial will be at the Old Hall Cemetery, with the Rev. Ray Hand officiating. Petty was born Jan 27, 1905 in Corsicanan, Texas. Surviviors include his wife Louisa Petty, his sons W. C. Petty Jr. of Euless and Timothy Earl Petty of Farmers Branch; his daughtr Nancy Monk of Lewisville, his brothers Vernon Petty of Dallas and Lewis Petty of Frankston; his sister Gertie Miller of Alto; and his mother-in-law Trossie Williams of Irving.5Census Record, 1920.

RotonWieland-Merrill Chapel in Carrolton was the site for the memorial services with burrial at Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville. She is survived by her mother Trossie Williams of Irving, two sons William Carroll Petty Jr of Euless and Tim Petty of Eastvale: Two brothers, R.E. "Mck" McGinity of Lewisville and Gene McGinity of California; one sister Florenz Krueger of Irving; nine grandchildren & several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Petty had retired after 29 years of service with Ling-Temco-Vought aeonautics Company.2Obituary, Newspaper article sent by Paul Rothgeb.
