Pat stated that her father George Alexander petty was born in Russell co., Ks. he, Mae and Georg went to greeley County to work around 1904, and stayed there a couple of years. Mae apparently left Purley and went to Washingon state (she assumed). Purley took my father, George, back to his mother's (Nancy) in Brewster to raise while he did carpenter work. There is a post card from Puley from Seattle WA in 1914 to his niece back in the Kansas area. I think Purley was living with my father in Seattle until my father joined the Army in 1916 to fight in WW1. The last I know of Purley is that he may ahve died in Aug. 1923, but, I don't know where.
