"Mrs. Harriet I. Nowling died Sunday morning, Jan.22, 1888, at her home ix Waxahachie, afte a long illness. She was born Nov. 30, 1827 in Henry County, Tenn., and married Payton Nowlin Sept. 11, 1845 in Green County, Missouri. They came to Waxachacie in 1861. One son preceded her in death and she is survived by her husband and seven children."
