Taylor Petty 1st and wife, whose maiden name was thought to be Blackwell came from Virginia and homesteaded land at the head of the Meramac River in Dent, County, Missouri. Post office office was probably Salem, Mo.
Children listed were: 1. Wilson (Wilse) 2. Millie who md Joe Taft 3. Taylor (2nd) Taylor Petty was the 1st to die at age of 30, sometime before the Civil War. His wife married again when her children were almost grown. 4. Jefferson Riley born 1843. Md. 5 times. Died Feb 1912, bur. in Cooksy Cem. Cook Station, MO.

Millie, Petty dau of Taylor Petty 1st. md Joe Taft. Their chldren were:
