Solomon left Frankford 1870/1875. Moved to Ozark Co., MO. Abt 1881 moved to Barry Co., MO.2Jean M. Fisher.
Elizabeth was called "Aunt Liz: by the Pettys. She loved them and they loved her. Solomon and Aunt Lize were both registered doctors. Solomon was a medical doctor and Aunt Liz was a herb doctor and a faith healter. "Dr. Sol," as he was called, was highly respected all over southern Missouri and other places. His name as a doctor was spread far and wide. Sol was goo friends with the indians, and it is said that he learned a lot about medicine from them. Aunt Liz had been married before and had a little girl. When the little girl was just big enought to walk and talk a little, Aunt Liz gave her some bread and milk to eat one day and the little girl took it out on the porch. When Liz went to check on her baby, she found her sitting there feeding her milk and bread to a big black snake. When Aunt Liz's little girl was only two years old, she died and a few years later her husband died leaving Liz alone until she met and married Sol Petty, her second husband. (Some of this article is not included because of length.)."
"Solomon K. Petty was born in Franklin County, OH in 1818. His family moved to Frankford, MO, when Solomon was six years of age. He married Sophronia Mefford when he was 23, and they had eight children, five girls and three boys. about the year 1870, Sophronia died. Solomon heard about homesteading in Ozark County, MO, so he took what children were still at home and made the trip into the wilderness of Ozark County in a covered wagon. It was here that he met and married his second wife, Elizabeth T. (Sisney) McGlaughlin. Her family had a farm close to Solomon's. By this time, his son, Caleb, was a yound man and he married Elizabeth's youngest sister, Martha Amanda (Sisney) Huffman.3Jean M. Fisher, 1850 Census Peno Twp, Pike Co., MO, page 263.

"Solomon K. Petty was born in Franklin County, OH in 1818. His family moved to Frankford, MO, when Solomon was six years of age. He married Sophronia Mefford when he was 23, and they had eight children, five girls and three boys. about the year 1870, Sophronia died. Solomon heard about homesteading in Ozark County, MO, so he took what children were still at home and made the trip into the wilderness of Ozark County in a covered wagon. It was here that he met and married his second wife, Elizabeth T. (Sisney) McGlaughlin. Her family had a farm close to Solomon's. By this time, his son, Caleb, was a yound man and he married Elizabeth's youngest sister, Martha Amanda (Sisney) Huffman.

He was named after his brother caleb Mefford who had married his father's sister, Cinderella Jan Petty. He had five sisters and two brothers. Sophronia, Caleb's mother and Samuel his brother died sometime between 1870 & 1875, as Solomon was living in Ozark Co., MO in 1877 he married Elizabeth T.Sisney, the sister of Caleb's wife Amanda. We have been told that Sophrinia was burried in Frankford so her Samuel may hae died in an epidemic of some kind, since they both dropped out of site. Caleb married Martha Amanda Sissiny, a young widow woman with 3 cildren in 1876. They lived in Ozark Co., MO until 1881. By this time they had 2 daughters, Ellizabeth So;hronia (Named after her grandmother and step-grandmother). and Louisa Dazerine (named after her aunty and great-grandmother). They moved to Barry County , Missouri to a 160 acre homestead where they had two sons, William thomas and Isaac Robert by 1883. When Isaac was about 3 yrs old, Caleb came down with pneumonia. When it looked as though he would not recover, he asked his wife, Amanda to make him a promise that she would bury him on this homestead. He died a few days later, and Amanda did as he had requested and buried him on his land.
