Irene Petty Watts listed him as having gone to South Carolina with his brother Luke Petty. There is a signature of an Abner Petty in South Carolina Archives dated 1779. He was said that he died of Small pox during the revolutionary war. Ref: Petty Book pub in 1934 and is found in Halifax Co., Courthouse, Virginia.2Frank E. Bradley, Jr..
