A correction to my original posting on Francis Petty b 1788
I (John Petty) have in my possession a copy of the Bible pages of William Petty b 1833 and Nancy (Nannie) Adkins, listing his father: Francis Petty b April 7, 1788 m. Polly G Petty b. Feb 15, 1804 and the names and dates Williams sons and daughters. There is no mention that Polly G. was Polly Gould Fowlkes, so that is probably a mistake. Note: (by John Petty) - The marriage date given from the database "Virginia Marriages, 1740-1850" was August 30, 1822. It also list the bride as Polly G. Fowlkes.
Note: Actual marriage may have took place September 5, 1822.
Other changes: Through the internet I have learned that Francis & Polly had 12 children instead of 9 originally listed.
