1Barbara McGee, editor, Petty Papers, Vol 7 #1 pg 2, 3, 38, 42; Vol 6 #2 pg 20.
of Champaign Co., Ohio.

2Barbara McGee.
Sources: D. D. Supreme Court Order Bk #2 SCOB GS ser #1,289,818 p 82-89; also lived in Green Co., Ohio in 1811; Lived on King's Creek & built a mill; came from Bourbon Co., KY in 1806; Bought land in 1809; Family Bible Records (supplied by Maxamillia Sallie) gave birthdates of all children.

3Wanda Loomis.
"The Petty and Fisher's, left Virginia (now West Virginia) along with other families in the neighborhood in which they lived and moved on to Kentucky. Our Pettys and Fishers were in this group. They all moved to Bourbon County, Kentucky.

Ebenezer, and Elizabeth Petty moved first in abt 1787 followed by the brother Joseph Petty, who remained in Kentucky until abt 1812 when he received a land grant in what is now Champaign County, Ohio."
The four Fishers that married children in Joseph's famiy are the chldren of Adam Fisher, the close friend of Joseph.

4Barbara McGee, Vol 7 #1 pp. 2-3; 25-32, Oct 1984.
Research on Joseph Petty and Mary Ann Fisher is recorded by Barbara McGee in " The Petty Papers." Also see www.pettygenealogy.com for more recent research.

Eunice Petty-1769

1Court Record, Public Court Recorts of Campaign Co., OH.
Chancery Records of the Court of Common Pleas; Record Book 16, Vol 1, Pg 118
Referred to her as being deceased with heirs in 1838 (court case involving the estate of her brother, George Petty).

2John L. Tevenbaugh.
Her given name is spelled both as Unice and Eunice in this court record. It is very likely that the former resulted from lack of familiarity with such a name on the part of clerks, and from weak reading and writing skills on their parts, and not from actual family usage.

3John L. Tevenbaugh.
We also have strong evidence that Eunice died much earlier, before 14 October 1801, because it was on that date that Jacob Harness [II] married his second wife, Elizabeth Rohrbaugh, in Hardy County. See E. L. Judy, History of Grant and Hardy Counties, West Virginia (Charleston, WV, 1951), p. 79.

4John L. Tevenbaugh.
As heirs, the children are listed, customarily, in birth order as listed here, with the exception of Ebenezer and Joseph, Jr., who are the original Defendants, and George, who for some reason is listed before Mary Ann, rather than after.
