"The Petty and Fisher's, left Virginia (now West Virginia) along with other families in the neighborhood in which they lived and moved on to Kentucky. Our Pettys and Fishers were in this group. They all moved to Bourbon County, Kentucky.

Mary Ann Fisher was a relative of Adam Fisher who was a close friend and good neighbor of Joseph (then living in Hampshire Co, VA which was later changed to WV.

Her given name is spelled both as Unice and Eunice in this court record. It is very likely that the former resulted from lack of familiarity with such a name on the part of clerks, and from weak reading and writing skills on their parts, and not from actual family usage.3John L. Tevenbaugh.
We also have strong evidence that Eunice died much earlier, before 14 October 1801, because it was on that date that Jacob Harness [II] married his second wife, Elizabeth Rohrbaugh, in Hardy County. As heirs, the children are listed, customarily, in birth order as listed here, with the exception of Ebenezer and Joseph, Jr., who are the original Defendants, and George, who for some reason is listed before Mary Ann, rather than after.
