States that it appears that Frances W. was the 2nd wife to John M. Petty and that she was married first to a "Farley" and married John M. Petty sometime before 1850. Therefore tthe children shown as John M. Petty's children would be by an unknown 1at wife, who probably died sometime around 1844-45 or at least before 1850. That could mean that Marshall Smith Petty could be a son of John Marshall Petty and Frances. If so it may be the only one born to that marriage. No absolute conclusion on this. Barb.
