John M. Petty on the 1860 Hill Co census is believed to be the cousin of Robert Petty-yet he resided (at least for a time) in Hill County, Texas. But, he definitely was kin to Robert. In the 1850 Callaway County, Missouri census we find this Robert Petty, Jackson Petty, and a Zach Petty (b.1783-4 VA) all living in district #12.
