There was a Nancy Jane Patty, born September 1, 1834, daughter of Rev. Ralph Petty of the Baptist Church. She married James Monroe Quarles who was born October 25, 1825. They lived for years around Paducah, KY, but then relocated to Hawthorne, FL in 1882. Nancy Quarles died on May 12, 1883, followed by their daughter, Mary A. on June 7, 1883, and on June 23, 1883, their daughter Lanora I. Quarles. James M. Quarles died at Mayfield, KY on June 24, 1906, aged 80 years and 8 months.".
