1Family Records, Families of Elizabeth Petty.
Each of the cooperative family group who have family bible records or family traditions gathered what was written in those records. Each concluded that their records said John Petty was the patriarch listed as the father of Elizabeth Petty, and the last known father.
The conclusion of John being the husband of Elizabeth, mother of Ann Petty Mace, Ebenezer Petty, Unis or Eunice Petty Fisher, John Petty and Joseph Petty along with half brothers Gaisbert and Cornelius Bogard was concluded by:2Reasoning.
John may have died before the family moved to West Virginia. There are no early records of him owning land there.

There is one place in Pennsylvania, called Isle of Jersy, and one called Jersey Shore. which is was west of Williamsport, on the Susquehenna River in N. Central Pennsylvania. Now a Borough of Lycoming County, PA. Ref: Pennsylvania Gazateeer LDS book 974.8 E5p At this point it is my conclusion that since the rest of the family said that they were from Pennsylvania, she would be too.
Previously birth was listed as Sussex Co., NJ, this was reported but never verified. Then it was said that she was born on the Isle of Jersey (and Bombay). I have looked for a location that could fit that discription, and to date all leads to that have failed.
