March 12 1804 he was a Justice Was a Tavern keeper 13 Mar 1804, Tues: George Petty elected registrar & made bond 11 Dec 1804: George Petty licensed to keep public ferry across the Cumberland River. Landing at his house. June 10, 1805; Court Vs. Charles W. Harrington; Defendant confessed he was guilty. (This would be the son of Charles and Patience) March 11 1806 Deed of Conveyance from Robert Nelson or Belson to George Petty 1805 John Arrington paid taxes in Stewart co., on 100 Acres of land. (so in 1805 Charles and Patience' son John was in Stewart Co, TN October 20, 1807, page 51, Witmell Arrington acknowledges debt to State. (very likely another son of Charles W. Harrington and Patience) January 20, 1808, George Petty appointed ranger of Stewart County, Tennessee 1808: Rachel Petty testified in court with George Petty of negro sale from William Curl to Robert Cooper purchased from James Rogert. December 9 1808 George Petty permitted to have an ordinary house at his house. 1823: George Petty and others were appointed commissioners to prepare plans and lay off and let out contract for a new brick courthouse at Dover.
